Herbal Statistics

The researchers used the stratified sampling technique to test the awareness of students in the 10 herbal plants most advised by the Department of Health in the Philippines. 

In this case the strata are the year levels. The researchers were able to radomly drawn the fourth year students of Iligan City National High School. Random selection of 2 classes/section were also done to come up with a 100 respondents.

Table 1 shows that none from the Population of Iligan City National High who did not experienced treating themselves with herbal medicine.

It is evident from the table above that  herbs as medicine is seldomly used. This maybe because of the lack of awareness among respondents.

Table 3 shows that most respondents were satistified with the use of herbs as medicine. Probably because herbs are nonsynthetic medicines.

    The table 4 shows that most respondents identified the ampalaya and guava. They were able to cite the uses of the ampalya plant. 
      The table also shows that respondents are not familiar with the plants herba buena, Chaang Gubat and Niyog-niyogan.
